Lines (2018-2019)
This new series of drawings pares down to a simple concept. The experience of standing in line is one that connects us all. These drawings explore this image without clear context of the lines’ purpose. They suggest our connectedness and our separateness though body language and physical appearance. Each drawing is like a line in a poem with its own specific trajectory, course, pauses, pace, and momentum. As an exhibition, these lines act as a procession and a mirror to the viewers while inviting empathy for our inconclusive experience.
