Procession Drawings
This large-scale drawing series depicts a diverse procession of people making their way to a shared meal. The figures each bring something different: cutlery, plates, centerpieces, and lots of food. Over sixty life-sized figures move along the gallery walls, each with its own implicit trajectory, pace, and momentum. The procession acts as a mirror to the viewers’ walk through the space while inviting empathy for our interconnected yet inconclusive experience.
This work was conceived as a collaborative exhibition with Melissa Haviland entitled Place Setting at Jacksonville University. This portfolio shows individual drawings with a few installation shots of the two-person exhibition in the last images.
