EATING PRACTICE (2000-present) > Relics of Ordinary Time

This series of small drawings is born out of slow processing of my brother Ramón’s passing in 2021 from COVID. It looks closely at the mundane realities of his daily measured life as a Catholic priest of two decades- I focused on the ordinary stuff of the clock’s hours and the calendar’s days quietly pressing forward. I depict an assortment of his daily objects paired with fragments of isometric diagrams of his kitchen appliances and sparse precise but open-ended abstract marks that speak to me about various elements of his life.
